TRAINING-to-RACING PHILOSOPHY
Strong performance in distance running results from consistent training and pacing. Therefore, you must train your body to run with efficient form, with steady pace, with competitive fortitude. You must train your legs to face the trials of miles that build endurance, breathing, and pacing. You must train your mind for the miles of trials that teach racing and improve performance. Each runner has the potential to improve, to intelligently manage a race that yields personal bests , and to feel the waves of confidence that accompany success.
In terms of sequence of training, July and early August are ENDURANCE-BUILDING, late-August and September are STAMINA STRENGTHENING, and October is SPEEDING TOWARDS THE PEAK. So, to maximize your performance at the end of the season, build up your distance to strengthen your stamina, to sharpen your speed.

SUMMER PARENTS MEETING - To Be Announced. We will talk about the expectations for this season, the possibilities for parent involvement with/at meets and other events.

8:30 am Girls Varsity 5k
9:15 am Boys Varsity 5k
